Back in 2019, I visited Split and Dubrovnik Croatia for a week and it quickly became one of my favorite places ever. Dubrovnik is still my #1 city I’ve visited.

We paid cash back then, but if you’re planning a trip now, here’s how you can do the same trip using points and miles.​

How to Book Flights to Croatia with Points

• Fly into Dubrovnik (DBV) or Zagreb (ZAG)
• Use transferrable points → transfer to Aeroplan or United
• Pro tip: Fly direct to Madrid, London, or Paris on points where there's more availability, then book a $100 flight to Croatia.
• Use Seats.aero to search award availability up to a year out

Hotels in Dubrovnik on Points

Here are a few great options if you want to stay on points:

• ​Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik (Hyatt – 25k pts/night)
• ​Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik (Steps from Old Town)
• ​Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera (Right on the beach)
• Or book our Airbnb with a view.

What to Do in Dubrovnik

• ​Game of Thrones walking tour​
• Ride the cable car for sunset drinks + views
• Visit the hidden Buža bars for cliffside drinks
• Take a boat to Bowa restaurant (yes, from Succession)
• ​Snorkel + kayak tours, Lokrum Island ferry, and fresh seafood all around

Split Tips

• Take a 3.5-hour bus from Dubrovnik
• Stay at: AC Hotel by Marriott Split, Le Meridien Lav Split, Brig Boutique Hotel, or book where we stayed.
• Walk the Diocletian Palace, take a ferry to Hvar, or chill on the beach
• Octopus salad + black risotto = must eats
